Can we avoid traffic as cities reopen?

The article, As urban life resumes, can US cities avoid gridlock?, by the Conversation explores the topic around traffic over the past year. If you’ve driven through a city since March 2020, you probably noticed the lack of traffic. As people go back to the office, you also may have noticed the increase of traffic in the past month or so. I know I have! I’m back to checking traffic conditions before I leave for work.

The article also touches on how cities have used their (nearly) empty streets. Do you remember when streets were closed for increased pedestrian traffic? It seems like so long ago!

I personally think traffic will be an interesting topic over this summer, to see what happens, and how we react to it. Go check out the article!
