How is it already July?
I keep joking that this year is the longest-short year on record. How is it possible for time to stand still, yet simultaneously fly by? Nevertheless, it really is mid-to-late July and somehow the MLS (Major League Soccer for those not in the know) managed to restart the 2020 season during a pandemic, even though touching is big no-no. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t ecstatic when the Loons kicked-off last weekend AND managed to win (which by the way seemed a virtual impossibility around the 60th minute…) So, see, there really are some good things going on right now.
Speaking of which, there are some great things happening here at SHC+kamp. We kicked off two new projects in the last couple of weeks which is a great sign that perhaps things are turning around a little in the consulting world. I’ve heard from some colleagues that they are also picking up some new projects, another good sign. I managed to pass my real estate broker’s exam, which is no small feat (I’m convinced it is really a test about whether you can take a test, not whether you’ll be a good broker, which I am confident I will). Jess and Ellison continue to work towards their real estate licenses, and we should be ready to launch kamp’s brokerage services in the next month. Needless to say we’ve been busy - but a good busy, a welcome busy. I think SHC+kamp’s current state of affairs is akin to the Loon’s victory and Molino’s goal in the 97th minute last weekend that clinched the “w”…the team has been working hard to get back to fitness, the first 65-minutes of the game were ugly, but they somehow managed to persevere and collect three points. Here’s hoping we collect ours too. Happy Friday!

PS.. The Loons play their second game tonight of the round robin MLS is Back tourney - let’s see if we get to sing Wonderwall from our family rooms again.
