2021 Arrived this week.

The calendar finally changed to 2021, and I’m pretty sure everyone is giving a collective sigh of relief. We made it! I think?!?

Even though it is only January so much has already happened! Yes, there were moments of horror earlier this month when our democratic process was challenged, but it was the inspirational events of this week that have me feeling optimistic about 2021. Regardless of my political persuasion (which shall go unmentioned) for the first time in our history we have a woman Vice President. How awesome!

It is hard to put into words why it means so much to me. What I do know is that as woman business owner I often feel like I have to work twice as hard to prove that we’re as capable and qualified as our male counterparts. So I am encouraged about what it means to the onlookers. I am encouraged by what it demonstrates to not only our nation, but the world that we finally elected a woman to the second highest office in the United States.

I know that things will not simply get better just because we have a new administration and the calendar year now reads 2021…but for this week I am just going to pretend like it will.

Happy Friday. Jennifer
