Economics of Halloween

Happy Halloween!

If you have kids, or remember being a kid, who trick or treats, it’s no secret that there is a secret economy of candy. After going trick or treating, you sit down with your friends or family members and compare your candy bag to theirs. And if they have something you want, you can make a trade for it. Research suggests that children trade with more sophistication than we may realize, and thus Halloween is one of the perfect times for kids to practice this economic principle.
